House Project: Bathroom Medicine Cabinet

One of the wonderful things about being married is that you gain another family, a family with their own unique quirks, strengths, weaknesses, traditions, and skills.

In my case, I gained a family with practical skills that amaze me. In the short time that we've lived here, my father-in-law has helped out with countless projects. Projects such as installing five new lights, a swinging gate across the stairs, a new kitchen sink faucet, a diaper sprayer, and most recently a medicine cabinet.

Here's the old one in the garage, minus light bulbs and sliding mirror doors. It was . . . functional.

The new one is slightly larger and has more shelf space. Oh, and did I mention that it looks nicer? :)

But my favorite part? The new lights above it! (Including a dimmer.)

The blue and white sponge painting is going to change. Someday hopefully the floor (a rather uneven tile job) will go too. In the meantime, it's the little things like these that make this house feel like home.
